Season 2: Episode 2 - Port Mulgrave: Fraternising with Helen Louise

In the second episode of the series Tom is at the seaside! He is there to visit the hidden fishing hamlet of Port Mulgrave, in between Staithes and Runswick Bay on Yorkshire's impressive coastline.

Port Mulgrave was once the centre of the iron mining industry in the area. A tunnel, now bricked up, would be used to transport iron or to the harbour in the bay to be shipped across the world. Later, the fishermen took over, however with the cliffs eroding, away they resorted to building make-shift huts out of anything they could find.

During his visit to the abandoned fishing harbour Tom discovers lots of interesting things to photograph. Although there is lots going on, he does his best to simplify his photographs as well as picking up on the imperfections of what he finds.
