about

Tom picked up his first camera at 8 years old and from that moment on he was hooked.
As a child he would take lots of holiday snaps and then put slideshows together to share his pictures with family and friends.
In 2008, whilst studying to become a website designer, Tom discovered that photography may not just be the simple hobby he had believed it to be, but a potential career path.
In 2014 Tom graduated from The University of Westminster's prestigious Masters Degree in Photographic Studies and, alongside teaching in his own unique style on his Yorkshire Photo Walks, worked on personal projects exploring autistic spectrum disorders and his own unique perspectives on the world.
Today, Tom continues to teach and to make projects alongside working for a charity that helps people with disabilities to access and enjoy the countryside. Since 2020, his YouTube Channel, 'Yorkshire Photo Walks' has grown and grown and provides him with another creative outlet to unite his love of teaching with the wider photography world.

In 2012 Yorkshire Photo Walks started out as bite-sized, scheduled group workshops carried out on short walks through unique and inspirational Yorkshire locations.
Today, the same principle applies, however 1to1 and private group tuition, mentoring, weekend workshops and sessions beyond the boundaries of God's Own Country have been added to the repertoire.
Tom prides himself on tailoring tuition to each individual so, rather than simply being fed generic advice, on a Yorkshire Photo Walk you can rest assured that everything you learn will be helping you to master your own unique style of expression.
Limited to between 4 and 6 participants, our 2-3 hour scheduled workshops offer group and 1to1 tuition, engaging practical tasks and a chance to ask questions.
So why not take a look at what we offer and I'd love to see you soon!
