The Annual Christmas Lecture

Since we were locked down for Christmas in 2020, I have been providing an online lecture over Zoom on the penultimate Friday evening before Christmas.

Like the other talks I provide, we take a philosophical dive into the world of photography, tempting us to think more about the photographs we look at and produce.

TALK: The Power of Photography

When we first pick up a camera our main aim is usually to master the settings and how to effectively compose a photograph. Once these techniques have been mastered, many will settle into a comfort zone, following the same processes over and over again, soon becoming frustrated and getting stuck in a creative rut.

There is so much more to discover about photography and this talk is a window into how we can tap into it.

In this talk I explore an extensive world of hidden powers and powerful techniques we often take for granted. I also delve into the psychology of photography and try to bridge the gap between photography as an enjoyable hobby and photography as an art of expression.

Photograph Judging & Critiques

Photography can be a very subjective medium, after all, we can't all like the same thing. However, there are certain tools we can use to achieve aesthetically pleasing results in order to get our intent for a photograph across.

I provide the opportunity to visit groups to critique their photos and provide judgements for competitions. Get in touch via the button below to find out more.
