Northumberland Coast & Castles
Over three days in early May join us to discover the coast and castles of rural Northumberland. During the weekend we will explore some famous sites around this spectacular coastline and discover some hidden gems as well. Socialise with other photographers, explore this beautiful region, improve your photography skills and go home with special photos.
Please note: The total cost for this weekend is £330, which includes an initial non-refundable deposit of £100 will be taken to secure your place.
Dates: Friday 8th to Sunday 10th May 2025
Weekend Base: Bamburgh (See below for accommodation recommendations)
Please note that the information below is weather dependant, sessions may be rearranged to suit the best conditions.
DAY ONE HIGHLIGHTS
On day one we will meet in the town of Alnwick, the gateway to Northumberland and site of our first castle of the weekend. Meet up with the tutor and other participants over lunch and explore the quaint and historic market town, castle and gardens.
DAY TWO HIGHLIGHTS
On our second day we will, (weather permitting and for those brave enough), we will rise early to catch the sunrise over Bamburgh Castle. From here we will travel north to Holy Island to capture Lindisfarne Castle, the beaches and quaint cottages in the village. Returning to Bamburgh mid-afternoon to capture the castle and beach in a different light.
DAY THREE HIGHLIGHTS
We will conclude the weekend with a visit to Dunstanburgh Castle and Queen Margaret's Cove, home to some beautiful basalt columns.
